There are many ways all year long
for you to participate.
Find your way.
Clothing or Shoe Drive
Conduct a food or clothing drive at your church or organization. Collect items you would be proud to donate.
Host a Donation Party
Host a simple meal and ask guests to bring a food or hygiene donation instead of a dish to pass.
Pay It Forward Gift Giving
Ask your family and friends to donate food, underwear, socks, diapers, etc. for your birthday instead of personal gifts.
Shop Our Garage Sale
Shop our April and September garage sales. Find treasures as well as the practical: furniture, kitchen items, linens, home decor and sometimes, literally, the "kitchen sink." Oakland County's best!
Enjoy Our Fundraisers
By attending our fundraising events you contribute to keeping our doors open to help families. All our events are run by volunteers, keeping expenses to a bare minimum.
Share Your Summer Produce
Grow an extra row for CS clients: fresh produce is such a treat. Lettuce, green beans, squash, radishes, cherry tomatoes, potatoes and carrots are favorites.
Tell Others about Community Sharing & Become a Volunteer
We thrive because of friends and neighbors like you.
Tell others about our good works, our fundraisers and donation ideas!
Participate by volunteering for fundraisers, special projects or become a tutor!
Maybe a seasonal project is a great way for
you to participate.
Summer Lunch for Kids
For various reasons, not all children are able to participate in Michigan's free summer lunch program. For those children, we offer food for 20 lunches for one month.
Back to School Clothing
Collect clothing and shoes during the summer, and help us offer a free shopping day for kids prior to the beginning of school.
Shop from a child's Christmas wish list or choose several children - it's up to you. Wrap and donate. All names are confidential. It feels great!
Our community partners have seasonal projects too - more great ways to participate.
- Watch for special times when Meijer offers the "Simply Give" program.
- Donate when "Bringing Hope to the Table" is conducting a drive at Milford Kroger.
- Walk with us at the "Crop Hunger Walk" in October.
- Do the "Milford Easter Dash" each year, the Saturday before Easter.
- "Stamp Out Hunger" by leaving non-expired, non-perishable food at your mailbox the second Saturday in May.
- Annually designate Community Sharing as your Kroger Community Reward.
