The Empty Bowl Project's Main Event brings together families, friends, artists, restaurants, businesses and community members. The project seeks to raise awareness of food insecurity suffered by children, families and seniors in the Huron Valley School District.
Join our event and enjoy good soups, entertainment and a silent auction in a festive atmosphere for a common cause - eliminating empty bowls.
Prior to the Main Event, bowls are painted throughout the community at private parties, church events and other types of gatherings. These painted bowls serve as an entrance ticket. In addition, a wide selection of painted bowls, many of which have been painted by local artists, will be available at the Main Event for a $15 donation.
The Empty Bowl Project is run completely by volunteers. All donations and proceeds from the sale of bowls and auction items go directly to Community Sharing Outreach Center.
Lyle & Denise Tyler
Lyle and Denise Tyler brought the Empty Bowl Project to Community Sharing in 2015. Through their efforts, there have been three successful Empty Bowl Main Events, and many, many meals purchased for local families in need from sponsorships and bowl painting proceeds.
