Community Sharing

Providing 501(c)(3) based nonprofit assistance and advocacy to citizens living in Northwestern Oakland County Michigan.

About Community Sharing

Community Sharing was created in 2004 through the combining of Community Resource Sharing and Holy Spirit Church food pantries. Upon its creation, various area churches and organizations joined the core planning group and board. The primary focus was to continue with the food pantries while expanding the scope of services provided. The long-term goal of Community Sharing is to continue to expand services and service areas to ensure that all those in need will receive assistance. Helping all clients to achieve financial independence is the ultimate goal of Community Sharing.

The People Behind Community Sharing

We are a not for profit, 501(c)(3) organization which is overseen by a board of nine members and operated by a group of thirty volunteers. Additional community members generously donate their professional services to supply accounting, legal, and marketing related activities.

This community support reaches well outside our core group of volunteers. Through the partnership of two nonprofit groups and eight local churches, our resources strengthen and our ability to help those in need expands. It is the sharing of our community.

The People We Help

We help “the forgotten people”. The recently unemployed and the working poor. Each month we provide continual support to 175 families which equates to 500 mouths. Click for additional information on our service offering, needed donations, and eligibility.
